Winter is coming...just perhaps

It's December...should be freezing. But, I'm still able to spend wonderful weekends in countryside...'though not today, was raining so heavily I had to put a towel under my window...

Gent

I wanna go back!!!

Whatta country, what people, culture...beer...liked it all. Liked flying too-was my first time ;)

Taking off made me go wheeeeeeee!!!!! let's do that AGAIN!!!!

I would've get lost at Brussels airport for sure, luckily, J was there waiting for me....Took us some time to find that b&b in Gent (Déjeuner sur l'herbe-i recommend it), but everything was fiiiine with me. Most of the time I was walking the city alone because J was working, but it's a marvellous city! So much to see, and do. On every walk I kept returning to this Belgian waffles place...just couldn't have enough of those :p

Taranto

Finally!

I'm no longer able to update my blog from work - IT system is crashing so I'm netless these days...(and, let's not forget, we ARE in 21st century...)
I'm just gonna write a few sentences about my trip, which was AWESOME!!!

A proper vacation it was. With just a minor downside- I've traveled 25 hours to get there and 27 in return. But everything else was just great! I really enjoyed. I like the city, although I don't think I'd ever be able to drive in that traffic madhouse. And food...not good for my waste line ;)

Can't sit still!!

Donkey song: '...on the road again...' ;) How can you not love Shrek?
Well, I'll be on the road tomorrow. Then on the sea. Then on the railway. Then, finally, in taxi taking me to my hotel in Taranto. And then-just floating, showing off my tan (...) in south italian sea ;) I don't think it's any way close to Croatian sea, but, I'll see...
Working with ____ boss: I've announced my vacation some 3 months ago, and kept reminding him about it every 15 or so days, and he always said that it's ok. And then, yesterday when I've told him I was traveling tomorrow, his comment was- Well, do you really think it's smart for you to leave now?
?!?
Asshole. And I've almost said it out loud. My tongue still hurts from biting it. Needless to say how pissed I was, but, I've just cooled down and said 'I'm going'. And he said nothing more. Sit Ubu, sit. Good dog!
Tah-tah!!

Perhaps it's not that big a deal...

...but - I've just signed my first 'permanent' contract!!!
Which, for me, basically means I can travel some more ;)

Prolonging the summer

All the rain wanted to put an end to this summer but we were patient...and when the first ray of sun would come through the clouds we'd rush off to the beach. Me and Juli. I mean, girl comes to visit and to get some tan, and there were such bad storms the first two days that it made me feel embarrassed. But, it turned out just fine...So we did spend some 'quality time' on the beach, just being lazy and pretending to be lizards...And Fruzsi joined us a couple of days later...

Park of nature

That title does sound a bit off, but I don't know how to call it, and it's not a national park...
Well, this park is called Telascica. Don't bother pronouncing it ;)
I went there this May, with blood-givers. I'm not one-they won't let me give blood because I don't have 55 kg...I don't know why, it's not like I'm skinny or sth. But my friend is one and as that group always organizes trips and such I went with her this time.

This image makes me think about my boss n bigshots he's with at the moment....don't know why...

Don't have a clue why...

...but I'm feeling SO good!!! Like after a night of great sex. Except, I slept alone, fell of my bed and had a nightmare. So it couldn't be that.
It might be that one free day means a lot. Wasn't working yesterday so I've spent the day on a beach. Of course my nose got burnt, so now I'm all freckled...Or it could be all those messages I kept receiving till late at night... ;*
Whatever it is - feels good.

A mushroom

Gonna turn into one i swear! I've got soaked so many times this weekend that it's just not true! The kind of rain and thunderstorms when umbrellas and similar means of 'protection' don't help one bit. And of course I had to be out, taking care of bunch of tasks... My garden looks like, well, not yet a lake, but a huge pond. I expect ducks to fly down every minute. For now there're just blackbirds... Ever seen a blackbird, or any bird for that matter, dive? I have quite a social hanging going on around that pond. Blackbirds and sparrows bathing, turtles and hedgehogs drinking, lizards sunbathing...and then my dog splashes through and makes waves...
Like I live on a country. With my towns main night club 10 minutes walking from my house ;)
Anyhow, the weekend was...wet.

My bucket

As I keep having trouble uploading images to my blog, I've created a bucket for them...so if you're curious as these below are-go and look them up!

http://s104.photobucket.com/albums/m199/mirjaloncar/

p.s. You must have noticed by now I have literally nothing to do...

Ummmm, I just got this from MY BOSS!!!

I wanna fly....

...away. Just like a dandelion. (anybody remember that hilarious scene in Ice age?)
Perhaps someone'll make a wish before I'm gone. I know where I'd fly to :* Crooked kiss.
Well. A Friday. F-R-I-D-A-Y. I'm practically alone here. Seems like everybody took the day off, as Tuesday is a holiday so they'll have a looooong weekend. Not me. Guess it just goes that way when you're the youngest in the office.... sigh.
On the other hand, it's FRIDAY!!!!!
Few hours more and I'll be on the beach, showing off my new bikinis ;)
And it's gonna be a swell evening/night. I suppose. I'm takin mum to this concert and afterwards going to a night club to celebrate a friend's birthday. Gonna dance the night away.....
As you all should.

Palinuro

This is the ship from last month's party...'Palinuro'.

If I got it right-it's used by a military/naval academy, so it's really a school ship. Some kids have school buses, some have ships ... ;)
I had a bike.

I could live on a ship like this...quite easily.

Zadar

Just a few pictures of the beautiful town I live in...

The old town-city center- as seen from the town's bridge

9.th century church of St. Donat

Church of St. Donat and the bell tower of St. Anastasia-town's cathedral

Something new-the sea organs-unique in the world!! I love sitting on them and hearing them 'play' softly below me, especially in misty fall nights...

Nicely spent weekend

I've had such a nice weekend. Went on the island of Sestrunj, visiting my NY friend. Finally managed to relax thoroughly and get some sleep. It's a small island, not too many people but just enough to make Saturday's night fiesta a really fun one.

This is me, of course, on the balcony of M's villa. Behind me u can see two small islands called Sestrice- Little sisters.

I came home Sunday evening, got ready and took E on a party on this beautiful old sailing ship. I was tired but went anyway, out of curiosity. And it turned out to be the right decision. Everything was wow!, the music, food, drinks, and what surprised me the most-guys were so nice! It's a young Italian crew and they all were such a good company. And they all danced!!!

Me in front of the ship

I managed to take just a sip of my juice when G came and took me dancing...swept me of my feet. He is probably the best dancer I've ever danced with. Next to my father ;)

The Robbie story

Finally in Budapest! It was the bumpiest ride ever. And we even had to remind our dear sheparon (he emphasized like a zillion times that he WAS NOT our guide) that they have a bus full of girls who need to pi every now n then. This is me n Ivana walking through the city...melting. I've never experienced such a heat! Well, i have actually, in Budapest, summer 1997, on my high-school excursion ;)
Quite hot, indeed. 36 C, in shade...n no sea. But i liked it. We got lost while trying to find a parking space for our bus-all other buses from our group left us faaaaar behind on the road so we got there last n had to manage on our own...so i got a glance of that part of the city.I just think i won't go up there in summer again. Anyway, when they've finally let us out of the bus, first we felt the heat stroke n then our natural instinct woke up (again) n we ran to the gas station to relieve ourselves...of course we waited in line for about 20min. But, 'it's ok!', to quote on our dear Miss Croatia 1993. After we've fed n rested for a while, (Pizza Hut of course), we went back to the stadium. Ivana no2 n Gina found some german youngsters trying to change their extra standing tickets for seating ones. N it so happened the three of us were more than willing to make that trade...I was happy at first with my seating place, cuz i'm petit n i remember well the stampedo on The Rolling Stones concert; but after i saw how the stadium looked like, n that our seats were waaaay up there in the middle of nowhere-i changed my mind. N so we entered...we could bring in whatever we wanted-the security girl just felt my pockets. Next time-i'm bringing a cap for my water bottle-they were taking them off...like i could toss it way over to Robbie...
Burnt cheeks and freckles at their best...n i've sat in a puddle. No surprise. I was dirty as a piglet and concert haven't even started yet. Oh, just for the record, my english tenses are screwed up since elementary school, never got them quite right...
And then the sun started setting n crowd got up on it's feet...So we found ourself a nice spot next to the fence, n there was this thingy some 10cm high lying across the floor at that section, so it was really convinient for me to stand on that ;)
Made me tall just enough to see the stage right. This group, Orson i think, got out on the stage around 8pm. They sucked! At least to me. Every other song was a bad copy of Franz Ferdinand.
And then... the clock striked 9...Fireworks were awesome, we heard the 'Radio' n then Robbie appeared...Looking good ;)
No need for describing the feeling...the crowd, the beat in my stomack n Robbie, doing what he's best at-entartaining...I'm just sorry i didn't manage to take a pict of his new tattoo that he was showing off the whole time...two swallows (i suppose), one on each side of his belly button. Think they look good, but i'd have to be (much) closer to confirm ;)
Funny thing-at one point Robbie went down to the fence of the vip zone, shook a few hands, kissed a girl, n then turned his back to them n continued singing, n on the video wall i saw female hands all over his head n back n shoulders n just one male hand going over his tummy n heading down...but Robbie went back on the stage..
One of my favourite lyrics, though first line is missing-in early morning when i wake up, i look like Kiss....
Really, girls around me were prepared to give i-don't-know-what away if that would mean they'll get to sleep with him. Or whatever it is they want from him. I don't know. Having him in my neighbourhood would probably be fun. But in my home/bed? Dunno. Perhaps occasionally, why not :)
But as far as concerts go.... ...i want more!!!
